About the position

The Division General Manager for Cowen Construction in Oklahoma City is responsible for leading the local team to success by enhancing the company's reputation as a premier, relationship-driven construction firm. This role involves promoting the company's culture, hiring and developing managers, and securing sustainable projects across diverse market sectors. The General Manager will also oversee budgeting, profitability, and strategic partnerships with subcontractors, ensuring the division operates efficiently and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Oklahoma City team to establish and grow Cowen's identity as a premier construction company.
  • Promote company culture, vision, mission, and values through effective hiring and development of managers.
  • Identify high-quality revenue streams and secure sustaining projects and relationships.
  • Initiate meetings with prospective clients and develop strategies to increase client list and revenues.
  • Recruit and hire top-tier employees to meet market needs while maintaining company standards.
  • Mentor, train, and manage employees to ensure effective operations and adherence to policies.
  • Manage and forecast budgets and profitability for the Oklahoma City division.
  • Enhance relationships with subcontractors to produce strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure managers communicate effectively and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Oversee project estimates to ensure they are timely, accurate, and competitive.
  • Organize and present market RFPs and RFQs, including in-person interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 6-10 years of experience in the AEC market in Oklahoma City.
  • Solid relationships within the OKC AEC market.
  • Great communication skills and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with construction management software.
