About the position

The Actuarial Analyst position at Oliver Wyman is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to a variety of client projects within the Health Consulting practice. Responsibilities

  • Support health insurance product development, modeling, and analysis.
  • Assist in care management design and operational efficiency optimization.
  • Conduct pricing assumption analysis and trend analysis.
  • Review model methodologies and perform medical and pharmacy claims analysis.
  • Provide financial reporting and valuation support.
  • Conduct market simulation analyses of proposed federal and state legislation.
  • Participate in mergers & acquisitions due diligence, including assumption review and model building.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for startup operations or new product expansions.
  • Support regulatory changes and implementation efforts.
  • Analyze value-based care and other risk-taking arrangements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Actively pursuing actuarial credentials.
  • Demonstrated track record of rapid learning and high performance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Deep critical-thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Highly motivated and willing to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, SAS, SQL, R, Python, VBA, or other programming languages.
