About the position

The Actuarial Analyst position at Oliver Wyman is designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are eager to develop their skills in actuarial science within a dynamic consulting environment. The role involves working closely with experienced consultants on a variety of client projects, primarily in the life insurance sector, where analysts will contribute to product development, modeling, valuation, and strategic analysis. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to life and annuity product development, modeling, valuation, and analysis support.
  • Review pricing assumptions and model methodologies, benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Assist in mergers and acquisitions due diligence, including assumption reviews and model builds.
  • Transform pre and post actuarial model data and processes, integrating systems and financial reporting.
  • Optimize actuarial models and develop long-term care assumptions.
  • Support client and industry presentations, surveys, case studies, and marketing efforts.
  • Develop and maintain intellectual capital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Commitment to passing actuarial exams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Deep critical-thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, or other database software, and programming languages like VBA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with actuarial modeling software.
