About the position

The Principal position at Oliver Wyman offers an exceptional opportunity for talented and highly motivated professionals with significant prior experience in strategy consulting or the Communications, Media, and Technology industries. As a Principal, you will play a pivotal role in leading client projects and managing client relationships, ensuring that engagements are successful and meet the agreed-upon goals. You will work closely with Partners and share responsibility for the success of specific engagements, leveraging Oliver Wyman's best practices and your own expertise to deliver on-time results. In this role, you will guide and influence clients across various situations, becoming a trusted advisor while executing the commercial process. You will also engage in business development by identifying new and expanded opportunities, creating valuable intellectual capital through thought leadership, and staying knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing others within the firm, building a followership, and leading firm-building activities. As a role model for the firm's values, you will be well-regarded by Partners, peers, and clients alike. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in conceptual problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams in fast-paced environments. Outstanding communication skills are essential, as you will be presenting to senior executives. A minimum of 7 years of experience in strategy consulting or the Communications, Media, and Technology industries is required, along with an undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program. A willingness to travel at least 50% of the time is also necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process.
  • Leading and managing complex programs to ensure on-time delivery that meets agreed-upon goals.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting and/or Communications, Media & Technology industry experience.
  • Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives.
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
  • Willingness to travel (at least 50% of the time).
