The Financial Analyst 3 position at the University of New Orleans is a critical role responsible for overseeing the financial management of awarded grants. This includes primary accounting functions such as grant monitoring administration, compliance, and the preparation of financial reports throughout the lifecycle of the grants, from initiation to final closing. The analyst will be tasked with setting up new grants, entering indirect cost allocations, and matching journal entries to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Financial Analyst 3 will conduct training and supervision of assigned staff, fostering professional development and conducting annual performance evaluations to set future goals and strategies. The role requires the development of both long and short-term plans for staff organization, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively. The analyst will also meet with program staff upon grant award to clarify responsibilities related to grant management and reporting, serving as the financial subject matter expert (SME) for programmatic reporting and any policy changes that may impact financial reporting. Monitoring and maintaining file exchanges and updates to financial data between Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) programs and the Office of Management and Finance (OMF) is another key responsibility. The analyst will reconcile errors in financial reporting submitted by program staff, seeking resolutions to prevent future discrepancies. Regular communication with program staff is essential, including providing updates on available grant funds and preparing monthly data for fiscal office funding draws from federal agencies. The analyst will also prepare and coordinate quarterly reports for federal agencies, ensuring collaboration with other offices to gather necessary information. Finally, the Financial Analyst 3 will be responsible for reconciling interim and final financial reports, verifying these with the fiscal office, and providing grant data for annual audits and financial reports. Compliance with internal policies related to grant funds and applicable regulations is paramount, as is the execution of all grant closing activities.
