The Interior Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine, non-routine, and preventive maintenance on non-airworthy interior equipment on OAI aircraft, following OAI manuals, manufacturer's manuals, FARs, and other established procedures. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is mechanically inclined and capable of working under supervision while maintaining a professional demeanor when representing the Maintenance Department onboard company aircraft. The Interior Mechanic will assist licensed mechanics as required and will be responsible for signing off on work accomplished, including troubleshooting deferred maintenance items. Proper documentation of all maintenance tasks is essential, as is the tagging of all repairable components with the reason for removal. The position also involves attending training courses assigned by supervisors and complying with all company rules and regulations. Safety is paramount, and the mechanic must keep a constant watch for excessive costs, ensure proper equipment usage, and install acceptable parts or components. The role may involve some travel, and the mechanic must maintain a clean work area and may be required to repair company property from time to time. Regular attendance during scheduled business hours is expected, and the mechanic must be willing to work 10-12 hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, non-routine, and preventive maintenance on non-airworthy interior equipment on OAI aircraft according to OAI manuals, manufacturer's manuals, FARs, and other established procedures.
  • Assist licensed mechanics as required.
  • Sign for work accomplished, including troubleshooting deferred maintenance items, and ensure proper recording of all maintenance tasks on company documents.
  • Properly tag all repairable components including reason for removal.
  • Attend all training courses as assigned by any Supervisor.
  • Comply with all company rules, regulations, and procedures set forth in company manuals and policies developed by Supervisor.
  • Monitor safety, excessive cost of labor duplication, and ensure proper equipment is used and acceptable parts or components are installed.
  • Coordinate all troubleshooting work requests and requirements with the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Control.
  • Keep the work area clean and maintain or repair company property as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance during scheduled business hours.
  • Represent the Maintenance Department professionally when onboard company aircraft.
  • Maintain an insurable driving record under Omni insurance driving guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as specified by the Director of Maintenance.

Requirements

  • Aviation experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of using aircraft manuals for finding part numbers and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to use sealants and adhesives, and perform electrical troubleshooting.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid state issued driver's license with clear MVR with no major moving violations within the past 3 years.
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year background/criminal/motor vehicle records check and pre-employment drug screen.
