About the position

Tyndale House Publishers is seeking an On-Call Assistant Copyeditor for Spanish literature, a role that plays a crucial part in producing high-quality Spanish Bibles and books with a spiritual impact. The ideal candidate will join a talented editorial team dedicated to ensuring that the manuscripts are polished and ready for publication. This position involves copyediting manuscripts and proofreading typeset pages, ensuring that every detail is attended to with diligence and care. The successful candidate will be described as self-disciplined, organized, and collaborative, with a strong focus on productivity and attention to detail. Candidates must possess a college degree or equivalent editorial experience, along with a deep understanding of both English and Spanish languages, including grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in computer skills. The role requires editorial judgment and a solid grasp of the complexities involved in writing, translating, editing, and proofreading. A strong knowledge of the Bible and evangelical Christian thought is also necessary, as Tyndale House is an evangelical Christian publishing house. Candidates must be prepared to sign Tyndale's Statement of Faith and provide writing samples in both English and Spanish as part of the application process. Additionally, selected candidates will need to pass a Spanish/English editorial test prior to the interview.

Requirements
