About the position
Kitsap Mental Health Services is hiring an On-Call Behavioral Health Tech to join our Crisis Triage Team. The Behavioral Health Technician assists clients with Crisis Services while maintaining a safe and therapeutic work environment and assists clients in meeting their daily basic needs for health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Take appropriate measures to meet the client's daily basic needs for health and safety, including but not limited to preparing and serving meals, conducting safety checks of the units, monitoring clients according to the assigned levels of observation, providing transportation as directed by a supervisor, assisting in maintaining a clean work environment, and maintaining a sufficient inventory of food and non-food items.
- Complete all required electronic and paper charting, documentation, and data entry of clients as outlined in the appropriate KMHS guidelines, manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in clinical activities as directed by a supervisor, including facilitating approved group activities, conducting ongoing observation and assessment of the client's mental status during each shift, recording client nutritional intake, sleep, and vitals, running treatment groups on shift, taking referrals appropriately, and following specific behavioral protocols for clients as directed by a supervisor.
- Complete all paperwork involved in providing direct client care, including paperwork relating to admission and discharge, confidentiality, client rights, client inventories, and tracking sheets.
- Attend all mandatory training on time and as scheduled.
- Keep current on all required documentation (i.e., food handlers permit, counselor licenses, etc.).
Requirements
- Entry level (no prior related work experience)
- Valid Washington Food Handler card (can be obtained after hire)
- Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (can be obtained after hire)
Nice-to-haves
- Experienced (minimum two years of job-related experience)
- Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
Benefits
- Hiring Range: $20.07 - $24.58 per hour
- Additional Shift Differentials as high as $1.25 per hour
