About the position
Visiting Angels is seeking On-Call Caregivers to provide non-medical care to clients in their homes. This role involves being available to respond to client needs during assigned schedules, ensuring safety and companionship for adults who wish to live independently. Caregivers will have flexible weekday schedules and the opportunity to pick up extra shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide hygiene and grooming assistance including incontinence care, bathing, and dressing.
- Monitor clients for safety and provide supervision.
- Assist with ambulation and mobility, including lifting up to 50lbs.
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks.
- Perform laundry, run errands, and do shopping for clients.
- Transport clients to and from appointments.
- Offer supportive companionship and respond quickly in emergencies.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and liability insurance.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a CNA license or at least 2 years of elderly caregiving experience.
- Must be able to travel 45 miles outside of Waco.
- Must successfully complete a Criminal History check.
- Must provide 3 professional references.
Nice-to-haves
- CNA License (preferred)
- Experience working in homes with pets or smoking.
