About the position

Appl Orchard Hospice is seeking a dynamic On Call Registered Nurse to join our passionate and experienced team. This part-time position requires availability every other weekend, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. As a locally owned company, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional hospice care to our patients and their families. We are looking for a candidate who is not only skilled in nursing but also possesses strong communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical professionals. The On Call RN will be responsible for carrying out physician orders, informing physicians of any changes in the patient's condition, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive timely and appropriate care in accordance with agency policies and regulations. Responsibilities

• Carrying out physician orders
• Informing the physician of changes in the patient's condition and needs
• Communicating with medical professionals, the hospice team, and others
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
• Providing services in accordance with agency policies and regulations that define scope of practice
• Participating in in-service programs
• Demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills

Requirements

• Valid Nursing License in both KS and MO required
• Minimum One Year of Hospice Experience Required
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
• Valid driver's license
• Can successfully pass background checks
