About the position

The On-Call Video Editor is a key member of the post-production team at Qurate Retail Group, responsible for creating high-quality multimedia content across various platforms. This role involves editing and compositing promotional spots, interstitials, and on-air elements, while collaborating with the production team to ensure the final product meets corporate goals and brand standards. The position requires a strong technical background in video editing and storytelling, with a focus on delivering compelling content that resonates with the target audience.

Responsibilities

• Edit and composite promo spots, interstitials, and on-air elements for various platforms including broadcast, mobile, digital, and social.
• Manipulate and handle graphics as needed for projects.
• Consult with producing teams and clients to discuss project elements related to post-production.
• Utilize Adobe Premiere Pro and the Creative Cloud suite for editing tasks.
• Evaluate and select scenes for dramatic quality and continuity in the final product.
• Maintain a clear understanding of broadcast standards and editing with network storage assets.
• Work collaboratively with senior editors and producers on pre-production discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in TV/Film or a related field.
• 3 years of industry experience in video editing.
• Strong understanding of storytelling, design, and editorial processes.
• Refined artistic judgment and methodology in video production.
• Ability to create effective content for the target audience without sacrificing creativity.
• Proficient in operating non-linear editing systems and understanding various file codecs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with color-correction and audio editing.
• Familiarity with text and graphic elements in video production.
