About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at Griot's Garage is a pivotal role focused on driving traffic and enhancing the direct-to-consumer (DTC) business through strategic and tactical digital marketing initiatives. This position requires a blend of hands-on execution and strategic oversight, managing a small team while collaborating with various internal and external partners to optimize marketing efforts across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will possess a test-and-learn mentality, bringing innovative ideas to the marketing strategy and ensuring the growth of the company's digital presence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives such as targeted Emails, SMS, SEM, Paid Media, Paid Social, and Amazon Ads.
  • Manage a small team along with a few agency resources.
  • Partner with internal and external partners to identify and optimize traffic and conversion.
  • Evaluate tools, agencies, or other resources needed to help optimize and grow the business.
  • Develop strategies for promotional campaigns executed via Email, Site, and Social channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and drive sales to the DTC site and Amazon.
  • Utilize web analytics and site data to optimize channel mix, spend, ROAS, CX, messaging, and segmentation.
  • Ensure organizational resources are utilized to drive maximum growth for the DTC business.
  • Support sales forecasts, track and analyze performance, and manage/mentor direct reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-10+ years of Digital Marketing experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of D2C Experience both site and Amazon is required.
  • Hands-on and strategic experience leading Paid Media channels (Search, Shopping, Display, Retargeting, Sponsored Ads, etc.).
  • Experience leading and optimizing an Email strategy, including Email, SMS, Segmentation, and Automation for a D2C ecommerce business.
  • Experience leading and optimizing Paid and Organic Social strategies.
  • 2-5+ years of experience managing an internal team and external agencies.
  • Experience optimizing for better SEO and web analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with circulation strategies (not a must-have but preferred).
  • Experience developing and optimizing Amazon Ads and driving Amazon 3P revenue.
