About the position

The On-Site AV Service Engineer at Cenero LLC is responsible for providing daily on-site support for audiovisual (AV), IT, and related systems. This role serves as a service escalation point, offering technical guidance and assistance to client personnel, project management, and subcontractors. The engineer will ensure the functionality of AV systems, diagnose and repair issues, and maintain a professional environment while delivering exemplary customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT systems.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and escalate issues related to audiovisual and IT systems.
  • Configure and deploy equipment for various applications as necessary.
  • Provide end-user support including concierge system assistance and meeting support.
  • Develop a professional environment and build technical credibility with clients.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers, clients, and management.
  • Maintain awareness of new technology through continuing education and training.
  • Assist with coordinating new projects at customer facilities, including communication and scheduling.
  • Attend new project meetings representing Cenero.
  • Conduct site surveys for new business opportunities when appropriate.
  • Assist operational teams with installations and troubleshooting as required.
  • Function as the final quality control inspector to ensure project work meets specifications.
  • Maintain accurate service ticket and time sheet information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Two+ years of customer service experience or five+ years of AV-related service experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of audiovisual systems including control systems, touch screens, and projectors.
  • Ability to terminate audiovisual-related cabling including CAT, BNC, and XLR.
  • Working knowledge of video and audio conferencing systems (Polycom, Biamp, QSC preferred).
  • Knowledge of AV control systems (Crestron & AMX preferred).
  • Understanding of video and acoustic principles and basic electrical wiring.
  • Knowledge of audiovisual test and repair equipment.
  • General knowledge of networking protocols and TCP/IP networking.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computers and office software.

  • Audiovisual installation experience is desired.
  • Strong emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents.
