About the position

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer Intern role is designed to assist in the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions. The intern will support the Subject Matter Expert in data analysis, report generation, and maintenance of BI systems, contributing to data-driven decision-making within the organization. Additionally, the intern will perform IT duties to support the local facility, ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to gather and analyze business requirements.
  • Develop data queries and reports based on business needs.
  • Conduct data quality checks and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide technical support for hardware and software issues at the local facility.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to business intelligence systems, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their data needs and provide appropriate analytics solutions.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of data within business intelligence systems and the local network.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and manage asset tracking.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on business intelligence tools, IT systems, and software.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Assist in any other needed tasks when applicable.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and database management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Matplotlib).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of data visualization principles.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Understanding of IT security principles and practices.
