About the position

The On Site Data Architect is responsible for enterprise-wide data design, focusing on optimizing data access while balancing batch loading and resource utilization factors. This role requires a deep understanding of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts. The Data Architect will define data architecture standards, policies, and procedures for the organization, ensuring that the structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements are consistent and adhere to accepted data content standards. This position also involves business analysis, data acquisition, access analysis, and design, as well as optimizing Database Management Systems (DBMS), developing recovery strategies, and implementing load strategies. In this expert-level role, the Data Architect will define and plan database architectures for enterprise systems, working on multiple projects as a project leader or subject matter expert. The position requires handling projects and issues of high complexity that necessitate in-depth knowledge across various technical areas and business segments. The Data Architect will also coach and mentor junior technical staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles. The responsibilities of the Data Architect include controlling projects from start to finish to ensure high-quality, innovative, and functional designs. Collaboration with IT teams and management is essential to devise a data strategy that meets industry requirements. The Data Architect will build an inventory of data needed for architecture implementation, research new opportunities for data acquisition, and evaluate current data management technologies. They will create a comprehensive vision for data flow within the organization, develop data models for database structures, and design, document, construct, and deploy database architectures and applications, particularly large relational databases. Additionally, the Data Architect will integrate technical functionalities such as scalability, security, performance, data recovery, and reliability into the systems they design. Monitoring, refining, and reporting on the performance of data management systems is also a critical aspect of this role, along with maintaining a corporate repository of all data architecture artifacts and procedures.
