About the position

The Language Resource Center is seeking on-site ASL interpreters for a contract position in Beaufort, SC. The role involves providing interpretation services at Elliott Elementary School, working from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, starting November 12, 2024, through July 31, 2025. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $60 per hour and emphasizes the importance of flexibility and cultural bridging in communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site interpretation services for American Sign Language (ASL) at Elliott Elementary School.
• Work collaboratively with students and staff to facilitate communication.
• Bridge cultural and communication gaps between hearing and deaf individuals.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality during interpretation sessions.

Requirements

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Experience in interpretation, particularly in educational settings.
• Possession of RID certification or passing EIPA score.
