About The Position
The Network Engineer is responsible for the onsite build, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware and software. This role involves researching, analyzing, and implementing software patches or hardware changes to address any network deficiencies. The Network Engineer will support the IT and Informatics teams, evaluate new products and services, and will be required to be available and responsive after normal working hours for break/fix situations, upgrades, and maintenance. This position also includes on-call responsibilities. In addition to the above, the Network Engineer will participate in network planning, network architecture design, and engineering. They will evaluate new products, perform network problem resolution, and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. The role requires performing system tuning and making recommendations for improvement. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting network systems, including wireless networks. They will also perform capacity and resource planning, assess network risks, and develop contingency plans. The position requires maintaining all user documentation for network devices, including in-depth network diagrams. The Network Engineer will support the development, creation, and maintenance of current network device configurations, circuit information, and operations network diagrams. They will develop processes to inventory all network equipment, perform periodic inventory audits, and reviews. Mentoring new team members to ensure a smooth transition from the clinical networking environment to the daily corporate environment is also a key responsibility, along with potentially providing formal training. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
