About the position

The On Site Paramedic position at BioLife Plasma Services involves supporting plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). The role focuses on ensuring donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and providing medical support under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and Center Physician. The position emphasizes a commitment to customer service and quality in the collection of high-quality plasma that contributes to life-changing medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history interview.
  • Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions at the facility.
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/ER as needed.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed or certified as an EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
