About the position

The On-Site Property Manager is responsible for assisting the Property Manager in the overall operation of a residential property, ensuring effective management and maintenance of the building. This role involves tenant relations, administrative tasks, and compliance with property regulations, all while fostering a supportive community environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the property office, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in managing tenant relations, responding efficiently to requests and complaints.
  • Ensure consistent application of property rules and regulations, reporting violations as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining building security and responding to emergencies.
  • Support the Property Manager in marketing vacant units and processing applications.
  • Collect rent, prepare bank deposits, and monitor tenant receivables using YARDI software.
  • Prepare recertification of residents and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with resident services staff to organize events and celebrations.
  • Attend professional meetings and inspections as needed.
  • Manage resident evictions in compliance with court orders as directed by the Property Manager.
  • Order necessary administrative supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Assist in submitting required reports and maintaining files and records.
  • Schedule maintenance repairs and follow up on work orders.
  • Assist in resident move-in/move-out procedures and inspections.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certificate from a trade school, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in affordable housing and property management.
  • Strong customer service skills with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and YARDI software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with nonprofit residential property management.
  • Tax Credit Specialist or Certified Occupancy Specialist designations.
  • Ability to speak a second language.
