About the position

The On-site RN for Virtual Nursing Operations is a critical role that operates from our Paces West location in Atlanta, Georgia. This position is not remote or hybrid, emphasizing the importance of being physically present to coordinate and oversee nursing operations. The primary responsibility of the virtual nursing staff nurse is to utilize nursing processes and telemedicine technology to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care remotely. This role requires a deep understanding of nursing practices and the ability to adapt to the evolving landscape of telemedicine. The virtual nursing staff nurse will work within the established policies and procedures of the organization, ensuring that all nursing care provided meets the highest standards of quality. This includes maintaining accountability for professional growth and adhering to the standards of practice set forth by the nursing profession. The nurse will also coordinate patient care activities among all assigned staff, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive and effective nursing care tailored to their individual needs. In addition to direct patient care, the virtual nursing staff nurse will be responsible for documenting patient interactions and care plans accurately, utilizing telemedicine tools to enhance patient engagement and outcomes. This position requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals and provide clear instructions to patients and their families. The role is essential in bridging the gap between traditional nursing practices and the innovative approaches offered by telemedicine, making it a vital component of our healthcare delivery system.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize nursing processes and telemedicine technology to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care remotely.
  • Maintain standards of practice in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate patient care activities among all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
  • Document patient interactions and care plans accurately using telemedicine tools.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide clear instructions and support.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a nursing program.
  • Two (2) years of direct patient care experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
  • Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Telemedicine and/or virtual care experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
