About the position

The Senior Cloud Engineer at Applied Information Sciences will leverage advanced cloud and data technologies to enhance service delivery for clients. This role involves significant responsibilities in managing and maintaining the Mission Enclave infrastructure, ensuring system health, and collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. The position requires a proactive approach to system management and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform the Enclave Administrator (EA) role on behalf of the Customer, including deployment and maintenance of Mission Enclave infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, including Azure Solution System Health, Program Application availability, and Capacity Management.
• Manage operational system tasks such as inputting, re-routing, fielding, and escalating trouble tickets as appropriate.
• Conduct troubleshooting and remediation activities, coordinating with System Owners, Product Team, and Migration Team.
• Participate in planning sessions and technical presentations with customer project leads and staff.
• Analyze technical requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Complete regular maintenance on all systems/applications, including patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Implement approved configuration updates/changes and escalate high-level architectural updates as needed.
• Delegate application-related responsibilities to Customer Mission Applications Administrator (MAA) role.
• Work closely with the Customer as a shared technical lead to ensure timely delivery of development, analysis, and deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent industry work experience).
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering.
• Must acquire a CompTIA Security+ (or higher level security certification) within the first 30 days of hire.
• Experience with Azure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps (Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, CLI).
• Experience within C4 networks and SAP networks preferred.
• Experience in cloud technologies, data and AI, security, business application design and implementation.
• Ability to self-manage workloads and ensure support for all systems/applications/workloads within the enclave.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications on Microsoft products, including Azure and Windows.
• Experience supporting enterprise systems and applications such as VDI, database systems, web servers, etc.
• Familiarity with networking (IP addressing, firewall rules, routing).
• Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloud architectures.
• Experience with agile development tooling and practices.
• Direct customer relationship management experience.
