The licensed Registered Nurse (RN) at MercyOne is responsible for planning and providing professional nursing services in accordance with established standards of practice, state board regulations, and organizational policies. This role integrates the art and science of nursing through compassionate, ethical, and respectful care, both direct and indirect. The RN plays a crucial role in the Nursing Care Team, utilizing a computerized or digital platform to facilitate optimal patient care management. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the patient's care plan from admission to discharge. The RN is expected to employ clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to ensure a seamless transition of care across the healthcare continuum. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the RN serves multiple roles including mentor, clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator. The position requires a commitment to quality metrics and accurate documentation in patient records, ensuring that care is not only effective but also efficient. The RN must be adept at using electronic medical records (EMR) and must have a strong foundation in adult education principles to support patient education and engagement.
