About the position

The Onboarding Accountant at Uplinq is responsible for leading the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition to Uplinq's bookkeeping services. This role involves direct interaction with clients, managing company setups, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance onboarding processes. The position requires a blend of accounting expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial data effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding new clients and their entities, including running onboarding meetings and managing pre and post-meeting communications.
  • Support the development of Uplinq's onboarding processes to ensure a frictionless client experience and efficient internal operations.
  • Interact with high-value clients to ensure optimal setup for Uplinq's bookkeeping services.
  • Communicate with clients to answer questions, gather information, and explain financial data as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to create valuable technology solutions within the onboarding process.
  • Share responsibility for testing the financial feasibility of future product goals.

Requirements

  • Experience with onboarding or company setup of new bookkeeping clients.
  • 3+ years of experience with cash and accrual bookkeeping.
  • 3+ years of experience focused on public accounting for SMBs, similar to a Staff Accountant role.
  • Professionalism and customer service skills.
  • Experience collaborating with product and/or software engineering teams.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with comfort in working with the unknown.
  • Ability to identify issues in bookkeeping and create actionable plans to resolve them.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with the ability to simplify complex data for company owners.
  • Attention to detail and ability to quickly adopt new tools and methods.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Willingness to be mentored and mentor others.
