About the position

The Onboarding Ambassador at UTHealth Houston is responsible for managing the entire onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive experience while meeting the university's workforce needs. This role involves creating tracking mechanisms, making independent judgment decisions, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all steps are completed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team, vendors, and hiring departments to meet onboarding goals.
  • Analyze and interpret background check information from multiple data sources.
  • Identify and research issues during the onboarding process and recommend solutions.
  • Direct background check firm employees on verifications and adjustments to background checks.
  • Make decisions on clearance for employment based on verified information.
  • Analyze and recommend process improvements for onboarding activities.
  • Build positive relationships with vendors, team members, and hiring departments.
  • Act as the primary resource for work authorizations and salary adjustments for new hires.
  • Communicate effectively with various parties involved in the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with HRIT to create tools that improve onboarding efficiencies.
  • Design and conduct new employee orientation and first month activities.
  • Create communications and templates to assist the onboarding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
  • One year of related experience, preferably in an academic or healthcare environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and independent judgment abilities.
  • Ability to analyze information and determine the best course of action.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with credentialing employees in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of onboarding processes for international employees.
