The Onboarding Payroll Specialist position at EC Electric is a vital role within the Accounting Department, primarily focused on facilitating the payroll setup for new employees. This position is essential for ensuring that new hires are integrated into the payroll system efficiently and accurately. The specialist will work closely with the Field Operations Coordinator to implement onboarding processes, which may occur up to twice a week. In the absence of the Field Operations Coordinator, the Onboarding Payroll Specialist will act as a stand-in, ensuring continuity in operations. In addition to onboarding, the role involves processing a high volume of weekly certified payroll reports and maintaining employee files. The specialist will be responsible for fully processing new hires into the payroll system within 24 hours of their hire date. Other duties include preparing and tracking certified payroll reports, auditing timesheets for approximately 500+ employees, filing and processing Intent to Pay Prevailing Wage/Affidavit of Wages Paid, and handling employment claims. The position also requires answering employee inquiries regarding pay, managing heavy phone and email volumes, and completing additional related assignments as needed. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of payroll operations within the company, contributing to EC Electric's commitment to quality and employee fulfillment.
