About the position

The Onboarding Project Specialist at MarketSource is responsible for creating a specialized onboarding experience for new hires in the Target Tech Program. This role aims to enhance the new hire experience, improve retention metrics, and ensure a seamless transition into the retail environment. The specialist will engage with new employees, provide technical support, and maintain communication with various teams to foster a positive onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Create personalized welcome letters for all new hires.
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls the day after onboarding.
  • Set up email accounts and OneSource logins for new hires.
  • Distribute Target Tech shirts to new employees.
  • Provide Q&A support for new hires.
  • Follow up on online training to ensure completion and accuracy.
  • Make 20-30 phone calls per day, including texts and emails to new hires.
  • Provide technical support for email, OneSource, and Windows credentials.
  • Manage Target POS numbers for new hires.
  • Coordinate with Support Team, Recruiting, and ESG for onboarding processes.
  • Facilitate communication updates to District Managers (DMs).
  • Conduct first-day follow-ups and eventually 30-day follow-ups with new hires.
  • Lead bi-weekly new hire calls covering company values and program overviews.
  • Conduct weekly classroom training for new hires, covering various topics related to the company and job expectations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS College Degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • 1-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Past retail knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct professional conversations via telephone.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Training and classroom facilitation skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks.

  • Experience in retail management or training.
  • Familiarity with onboarding processes in a corporate environment.
