About the position

The Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in the Facilities department by overseeing the hiring, orientation, and onboarding processes. This position is designed for a detail-oriented and innovative individual who can manage a high-volume onboarding process while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The specialist will collaborate with management to create a seamless onboarding experience for new hires and existing team members, reflecting the values and mission of the Tribal Community.

Responsibilities

  • Execute department recruiting responsibilities, including attending hiring events and interview sessions, and tracking applicants prior to hiring.
  • Communicate with applicants before onboarding to provide information on expectations and schedules.
  • Ensure a consistent onboarding experience by conducting New Employee Orientation and providing facility tours as needed.
  • Coordinate with training personnel to schedule training courses and maintain current training records for compliance.
  • Interact with new hires during the onboarding and probationary period to assist with questions and gather feedback for process improvement.
  • Create and improve the employee experience to enhance retention efforts within the Facilities department.
  • Oversee the completion of onboarding initiatives adopted by management, including tracking action plans and maintaining accountability.
  • Collaborate with team members for continuous improvements to the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Ensure a high level of hospitality during new hire orientation by providing clear information and a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with department management and internal departments to resolve challenges faced by new hires.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of related administrative or onboarding experience required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite required.
  • Experience in a Casino or Hospitality preferred.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Demonstrates great attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including telephone skills, written and verbal communication, and active listening.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Personable and professional, capable of using caution and discretion in communication.
