About the position

The Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in welcoming and supporting new hires at UF Health. This position is responsible for ensuring that new employees complete all onboarding requirements in a timely manner while keeping them engaged and informed throughout the process. The specialist will explain company policies and procedures, assist with paperwork, and provide necessary support to facilitate a smooth transition into the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Onboards and welcomes new hires to the organization.
  • Assists new hires with completing new hire paperwork and providing supporting documentation.
  • Prepares new hire documents and completes new hire checklists.
  • Follows up with new hires throughout the onboarding process to ensure they meet all new hire requirements such as employee health and background requirements.
  • Emails, calls, and follows up with new hires to ensure they have completed all onboarding requirements.
  • Explains the parking procedures and ensures new hires know where to park.
  • Explains policies and procedures to new hires such as code of conduct, dress code, safety, and attendance policies.
  • Scans new hire paperwork to E-File; creates the new hire file in Efile.
  • Crafts and sends communication to new hires with information about the company culture, onboarding/training agenda, parking options, perks, and similar.
  • Works collaboratively with the recruiters to support the onboarding process, creates badges as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 3 years HR experience preferred.
  • 4 years General administrative experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • College Degree in Management, Business, Psychology, Education, Liberal Arts, Organizational Development, or Human Resources preferred.
