About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at The Arc Central Chesapeake Region plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by facilitating the onboarding process for their employees. This position focuses on providing administrative and customer support to ensure compliance with hiring and training standards, thereby promoting self-determination and independence for Participant employers. The role is fully remote but requires occasional travel to the headquarters or other sites in Maryland for meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the facilitation of the hiring and training compliance processes.
  • Process and verify new hire documentation.
  • Verify I-9 documentation.
  • Facilitate the completion of payroll forms and background screenings.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business or human resources preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in human resources processing onboarding and new hire documentation using an HRIS system.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities and populations.
  • Detail-oriented, highly responsive, and clear communicator.
