About the position

The Onboarding Specialist will act as the primary contact for new hires at Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center, guiding them through the onboarding process. This includes gathering necessary documentation, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition into their respective departments. The role requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of HR practices and California labor laws.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce themselves to new hires and guide them through the pre-boarding process.
  • Gather all pre-boarding documents from new hires, both credentialed and non-credentialed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of new hire information.
  • Email new hires with company details, including parking information and work schedules.
  • Welcome new hires with onboarding kits and an office tour.
  • Ensure new hires complete all necessary onboarding training, including compliance trainings.
  • Schedule onboarding meetings for new hires, including orientation and various departmental meetings.
  • Provide new hires with manuals, guidelines, and passwords as needed.
  • Detail initial tasks for new hires and address any queries they may have.
  • Ensure new hires have the necessary technical assistance for hardware and software setup.
  • Gather and file all paperwork related to new hires, including contracts and nondisclosure agreements.
  • Arrange product and company demos and presentations.
  • Collaborate with health center management and exercise good judgment in job duties.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Promote and align with BACHC's mission and core values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's or associate's degree in HR or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience as an onboarding specialist or in a similar HR role.
  • Experience with payroll software and Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of HR practices and California labor law.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in recruiting for at least one year.
