About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at McGee Air Services is a key team member responsible for leading the pre-employment hiring processes for new team members. This role focuses on providing an exceptional new hire experience by managing all aspects of the onboarding journey, including background checks, drug testing, and documentation completion. The specialist will work autonomously to support new hires and assist with various station support functions related to airport certifications and clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Launch and conduct reference checks, background checks, and facilitate pre-employment screening.
  • Oversee companywide onboarding processes, ensuring pre-employment requirements are met.
  • Track the status of background checks and pre-employment paperwork.
  • Enter data into HR systems and maintain records, compiling reports as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for candidates, building relationships throughout the selection process.
  • Promote McGee Air Services as a desirable workplace through effective communication.
  • Assist the HR team with Affirmative Action and EEO requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of applicant and team member information.
  • Manage station support activities including airport badging and parking.
  • Process new hires, verifying documentation for security clearances.
  • Provide timely updates to applicants through various communication platforms.
  • Prepare and maintain pre-employment and personnel-related records.

Requirements

  • One year of Human Resources experience with a focus on recruitment functions preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with applicants and teammates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online research tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn different systems for data entry and validation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Passion for customer service and high expectations for quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
