About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at Walden Security plays a crucial role in assisting the Human Resources Manager with various onboarding and administrative functions. This position is responsible for managing pre-employment processes, maintaining employee records, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires. The specialist will also support the HR team in various administrative tasks to enhance operational efficiency within the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Administers pre-employment tests, drug screens, background checks, and pre and post-employment documentation.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
  • Provides Walden Security benefits information and assists with completing the necessary forms to enroll and cancel benefits.
  • Creates and enters new employee personnel information into the HRIS.
  • Participates in company Quality Assurance initiatives, including record keeping, training, and auditing.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling in-person interviews with the Talent Coordinator.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling new hires to attend Initial Security Officer Training classes.
  • Assists with uniform assignments, exchanges, or reimbursements.
  • Assists with maintenance of uniform room cleanliness and inventory.
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Human Resources systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Human Resources role or related field.
  • Familiarity with pre-employment testing and background check processes.
