About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at Pilgrim's is responsible for managing the onboarding experience of new hires from their first day through the first 60 days or until they become qualified. This role focuses on ensuring that safety policies are adhered to, providing hands-on training, and fostering positive relationships between new hires and their supervisors. The specialist will also track training progress, evaluate performance, and participate in HR committees to enhance the onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety policies and expectations are being met by new hires
  • Manage the overall experience of new hires from day 1 to 60 days or until they become qualified
  • Administer, track, and evaluate all new hire floor training
  • Provide hands-on training for new hires during the training period
  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with new hires, peers, leaders, and clients
  • Meet with supervisors, Human Resources, and coordinators to review production processes and product specifications
  • Participate on HR & company committees
  • Fulfill key performance indicators such as retention rates and safety observations
  • Complete all training documents and ensure timely qualification of trainees
  • Conduct weekly meetings with new hires and supervisors to address any issues

Requirements

  • Highly motivational and positive, considered a great people person
  • Previous training experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable in all duties of the specific department
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional communication and demeanor
  • Ability to present ideas and concerns in a positive and professional manner
  • Disciplined, confident, and self-starter
  • Able to work independently
  • Must be willing to work in a plant/industrial environment
  • Must have great attendance record and be in good standing
  • Must be able to work a 3rd Shift Schedule
  • High School Diploma/GED; Associates Degree or two years of college coursework in Communications, HR, or similar field preferred
