About the position

Paisan Logistics LLC is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to manage the driver onboarding process for our independent contractor-based crude oil transportation operations. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for qualified Class A Independent Contractors and their professional drivers. The Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for processing and analyzing motor vehicle records, criminal history, driving performance, and prior employment to prequalify drivers for the onboarding process. This position requires a detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working with people and is adept at determining the proper fit for applicants. The ideal candidate will have experience in recruiting, transportation, human resources, safety, sales, and marketing within a trucking or transportation company. The Onboarding Specialist will receive phone applications, screen and schedule qualified driver applicants for onboarding, and gather all required DOT and company paperwork. Communication with potential candidates will occur through various channels, including text messages, phone calls, emails, video conferences, and in-person meetings. The specialist will lead driver orientation and ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding driver qualifications. This role requires a thorough review of applications and DOT reports to identify any risks, liabilities, or disqualifications. The Onboarding Specialist will follow all safety department documentation processes to ensure DOT compliance and will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Own the driver onboarding process ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience.
  • Process and analyze Independent Contractor's motor vehicle records, criminal history, driving performance, and prior employment against driver qualifications.
  • Receive phone applications, screen, and schedule qualified driver applicants for onboarding.
  • Gather all required DOT and company paperwork for applicants using multiple systems to ensure DOT requirements are met before hire.
  • Communicate with potential candidates through text message, phone calls, emails, video conferences, and in-person communication to assist in the onboarding process.
  • Lead driver orientation and ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations for Driver Qualifications.
  • Review applications and DOT reports in detail for any risks, liabilities, or disqualifications.
  • Follow all safety department specified documentation processes and procedures to ensure DOT compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one-year recruiting and/or customer service/sales experience.
  • Minimum of one-year prior trucking or transportation experience.
  • Proficient in Tenstreet.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA / DOT rules and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working within the recruiting, transportation, human resources, safety, sales, and marketing divisions within a trucking/transportation company.
