About the position

The Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires and re-hires at FirstHealth of the Carolinas. This position is responsible for coordinating orientations, scheduling necessary assessments, and maintaining accurate records related to the onboarding process. The specialist also assists with various administrative tasks to support the recruitment team and enhance the overall onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all new hires and re-hires are scheduled for appropriate orientations and required reviews.
  • Assist with corporate orientation and coordinate nursing and contract orientations as requested.
  • Schedule drug screens for new hires and ensure completion of employee health assessments.
  • Prepare and distribute onboarding packets, ID badges, and employee ID cards.
  • Assist with onboarding of agency staff and identify improvements in onboarding processes.
  • Support recruitment staff with routine reference checks and coordinate interview agendas.
  • Instruct new hires on the use of time clocks and ID badges, and assist with Net Learning.
  • Key new hire information into HRIS and payroll systems, and check drug screen reports as needed.
  • Maintain new hire/rehire employment roster and agency staff performance evaluations.
  • Complete I9/EVerify documentation and assign ID numbers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills and knowledge of Microsoft systems.
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
