About the position

The Onboarding Specialist position is a strategic partnership with restaurant operations, primarily focusing on coordinating HR functions across multiple restaurant locations. This role encompasses a variety of HR services, including hiring, executing reward and recognition programs, and assisting with employee development initiatives. The Onboarding Specialist is also tasked with the daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key performance indicators, as well as developing reporting tools to address any performance data integrity issues that may arise. In this key position, the Onboarding Specialist will work closely with Area Supervisors and Owner/Operators, as well as store managers, ensuring that the onboarding process aligns with the company's operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess experience in quick service and/or fast casual restaurant management, along with a solid understanding of the employee selection process, including recruiting. The role requires a high-energy and charismatic individual who can effectively communicate the company culture and objectives to candidates and newly hired employees. The Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for screening and managing online applicants, conducting initial interviews, and scheduling second interviews with store managers as necessary. They will also conduct crew WOW orientations at various restaurants, ensuring that all new hires are properly oriented and equipped with the necessary documentation and uniforms. Additionally, the Onboarding Specialist will support restaurant operations by retrieving employee folders for terminated employees and distributing paychecks on scheduled paydays. This position offers flexibility, with the potential for part-time or full-time hours, and requires availability to work on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and manage online applicants
  • Conduct initial interviews and schedule second interviews with store managers if necessary
  • Strive to ensure a diverse workforce
  • Attend local job fairs to network with candidates
  • Conduct crew WOW orientations at various restaurants in the area
  • Complete I9's ensuring acceptable documentation is presented
  • Go over Employee Handbook, covering all rules & policies, ensuring all paperwork is completed, signed, and dated
  • Distribute uniform components to restaurants immediately prior to a new hire's first day
  • Retrieve employee folders for terminated employees
  • Distribute paychecks on paydays (bi-weekly on Tuesday currently)
  • Generate reports of sales, cash, and labor metrics, identifying outliers in various performance areas related to sales and productivity
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Owner/Operators

Requirements

  • Experience in quick service and/or fast casual restaurant management
  • Experience in the employee selection process (recruiting)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and represent company culture
  • Reliable transportation with automobile insurance
