About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at Rocket Lab plays a crucial role in managing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition from the signing of the offer letter to the first day of work. This position involves coordinating pre-hire communications, managing document verification, and supporting compliance with ITAR and I-9 requirements. The specialist will work closely with both virtual and onsite candidates, contributing to the overall onboarding experience and enhancing processes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of onboarding from start to finish for specific domestic locations.
  • Manage pre-hire communication from when the offer is signed through the employee's first day.
  • Handle onboarding inquiries via the standard ticketing system to capture associated metrics.
  • Suggest methods to update, simplify, or enhance onboarding processes and technologies.
  • Manage virtual ITAR document verification across all locations.
  • Support all tasks assigned by the Onboarding Manager.
  • Manage I-9 document verification and processing for specific locations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of HR experience
  • Experience onboarding in Workday
  • Experience using Workday as an HRIS
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
