About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at The Verland Foundation Inc plays a crucial role in welcoming new employees and ensuring their smooth integration into the organization. This position involves managing the onboarding process, facilitating orientation sessions, and providing ongoing support to new hires as they acclimate to their roles and the company culture. The role requires collaboration with various departments to ensure all pre-employment requirements are met and to continuously enhance the onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the company onboarding program.
  • Oversee new hire orientations and onboarding plans in assigned area, including first day paperwork, trainings, and educating new hires on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recruitment and staffing logistics, including posting positions, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees, addressing their questions and concerns throughout the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with HR, hiring managers, and department heads to gather necessary paperwork and meet pre-employment requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of new hires during the onboarding period and identify any challenges or areas for improvement.
  • Collect feedback from new employees to enhance the onboarding experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline onboarding processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, both physical and electronic.
  • Stay updated on employment and labor laws.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in human resources or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of applicable experience in Human Resources, onboarding, and recruiting.
  • Knowledge of general human resource policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment and labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of onboarding best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications and familiarity with HRIS databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with social media management in a professional context.
  • Familiarity with Relias or similar onboarding software.
