About the position

The Onboarding Specialist at Rocket Lab plays a crucial role in managing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition from the moment a candidate accepts an offer until their first day at work. This position involves coordinating pre-hire communications, managing document verification, and supporting compliance with ITAR and I-9 requirements. The specialist will work closely with various teams to enhance onboarding processes and ensure a positive experience for new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of onboarding processes from start to finish for specific domestic locations.
  • Manage pre-hire communication from when the offer is signed through the employee's first day as defined by the manager.
  • Handle onboarding inquiries via the standard ticketing system to capture associated metrics.
  • Suggest methods to update, simplify, or enhance onboarding processes, procedures, and technologies.
  • Manage virtual ITAR document verification across all locations.
  • Support all tasks assigned by the Onboarding Manager.
  • Manage I-9 document verification and processing for specific locations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of HR experience.
  • Experience onboarding in Workday.
  • Experience using Workday as an HRIS.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
