About the position

The Oncology Data Specialist at OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center plays a crucial role in managing and leading research data related to cancer studies. This position involves data collection, entry, and patient enrollment for various pharmaceutical and investigator-initiated studies, ensuring compliance with protocols and maintaining high standards of data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collect data for patient enrollment and maintain electronic data systems.
• Determine required protocol procedures and discuss necessary information with clinic, chemo, and research staff.
• Serve as a liaison between the site and sponsor regarding data issues and discrepancies.
• Obtain research source documents from patient records and verify pharmaceutical study documents for accuracy.
• Assist with data entry of registration, toxicity, drug, radiation, and pathology data.
• Prepare research charts for clinical and research teams and develop study-specific reports.
• Collaborate with investigators to collect data for internal chart review projects and maintain study-specific data sets.
• Monitor for protocol compliance and notify management of any deviations.
• Represent Data Management in external audits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-4 months of data entry and quality assurance experience
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Ability to code Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
