The Oncology Data Specialist at BayCare is a full-time hybrid role focused on analyzing, abstracting, and coding demographic and cancer-related information from medical records. This position plays a crucial role in identifying cancer patients for registry eligibility and preparing materials for medical conferences. Responsibilities
- Analyze, abstract, and code demographic, patient, and cancer-related information from medical records.
- Identify eligibility of cancer patients in the registry.
- Obtain interesting cases from medical staff and pathologists.
- Prepare agenda for conferences and ensure pathology and radiology materials are available for review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of related experience or an Associate's degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in Cancer Services and 2 years in Registration, or 1 year of related experience with an Associate's degree and required ODS certification.
