ONCOLOGY DIETITIAN

About the position

The Oncology Dietitian position at Morrison Healthcare involves assessing the nutritional status of patients, particularly in the oncology specialty area. The role includes training and mentoring staff, fostering teamwork, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while participating in quality assurance programs. This full-time position is based at the University of Maryland, St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD, and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Assess the nutritional status of patients in the oncology specialty area.
• Train and mentor patient services staff and interns as applicable.
• Foster teamwork and establish effective strategies to implement innovative programs for optimal clinical nutrition and financial outcomes.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient/resident rights policies.
• Participate in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility-wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs.

Requirements

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board, in states where required.
• Two (2) years of experience in the area of specialty required.
• Specialty certification when applicable.
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming.
