About The Position

The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position at Mercy Health is focused on delivering exceptional nursing care to patients, particularly in the oncology field. The RN will administer chemotherapy and other medications, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire).
• One (1) year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required).

Nice To Haves

• ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (acceptable in lieu of BLS).
• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Create and implement patient care plans.
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications.
• Start IVs, transfuse blood and blood products, and perform therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Assist in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.
