About the position

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Piedmont Physicians Medical Oncology Practice at Piedmont Atlanta. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, with responsibilities that include evaluating and following up with patients in the ambulatory clinic, as well as treating patients to ensure optimal care outcomes. The successful candidate will also participate in a rotating call pool, which includes night and weekend coverage, ensuring that patient needs are met at all times. In this role, you will be responsible for writing progress notes and preparing patient summaries that highlight pertinent positive and negative findings. Rounding on oncology patients in the hospital is a key component of this position, allowing for comprehensive patient management. Additionally, you will assist with service development by participating in meetings and collaborating with leadership to enhance the quality of care provided. The role also requires a willingness to assist with rooming patients and triaging calls when necessary, demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care. As a champion of hospital-based services, you will contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and consulting, while also providing leadership within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate follow-up patients in the ambulatory clinic and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of oncology experience with a high degree of clinical judgment.
  • Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification, or Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by the State of Georgia with National Certification.
