About the position

The Oncology Regional Marketing Director - Northeast is a pivotal role within Gilead Sciences, focusing on the expansion of the US Oncology marketing team. This position is crucial for the growth and launch of Gilead's Oncology products, specifically targeting metastatic triple negative breast cancer (mTNBC) and hormone receptor positive metastatic breast cancer (HR+ mBC). The Regional Marketing Director will be responsible for a wide range of regional marketing activities that are essential for preparing the US commercial organization and the external marketplace for these significant product launches and growth opportunities in this emerging business unit. In this role, the individual will develop regional strategies and effectively communicate these plans to ensure transparency, collaboration, and alignment across the enterprise. The Director will also be tasked with creating and executing the regional US thought leader engagement planning for Oncology products across various indications. This includes translating scientific, clinical, and market research into actionable commercial activities, leading the development and implementation of the Regional advisory board plan, and establishing relationships with key opinion leaders and Oncology medical associations. Additionally, the Regional Marketing Director will oversee the development and execution of the Regional Conference plan for Oncology meetings, build strategic and operational readiness plans for expanded Regional speakers bureaus, and aid in the development of educational content for Peer to Peer and Speaker Programs. The role also involves coordinating the development of integrated unbranded and branded tactics, facilitating the approval of marketing materials, and implementing processes for measuring and evaluating regional marketing activities. Participation in the annual brand planning process and managing relationships with key agency partners are also critical components of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop regional strategies and communicate plans for enterprise-wide transparency and collaboration.
  • Execute regional US thought leader engagement planning for Oncology products across indications.
  • Translate scientific, clinical, and market research into actionable commercial activities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Regional advisory board plan across various Oncology HCPs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and Oncology medical associations.
  • Develop and execute the Regional Conference plan for regional Oncology meetings.
  • Build strategic and operational readiness plans for expanded Regional speakers bureaus.
  • Aid in the development of educational content for Peer to Peer and Speaker Programs.
  • Coordinate the development of integrated unbranded and branded tactics according to strategy and budget.
  • Facilitate approval for marketing materials through internal review processes.
  • Develop and implement processes for measuring and evaluating regional marketing activities.
  • Participate in the annual brand planning process, leading the development of the Regional plan and budget.
  • Manage relationships with key agency partners to deliver on strategic and tactical initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience OR PhD and Eight Years' Experience.
  • 3 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience preferred.
  • Launch experience in Oncology is preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Breast Cancer Market is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and present to KOLs.
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
  • Ability to gather insights from customer engagements and translate market research findings into actionable insights and tactical plans.
  • Ability to understand and communicate clinical data and high-level science.
  • Strong capacity to collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams.
