About the position

The Oncology Sales Representative/Specialist role is a field-based position focused on driving sales and building relationships within the oncology market in Central Illinois, specifically covering areas such as Peoria, Springfield, Decatur, and Bloomington, including Metro East St. Louis. The position emphasizes a customer-centric approach, leveraging digital technologies and data analytics to meet the needs of cancer patients and healthcare providers. The representative will educate stakeholders about oncology products and collaborate with a diverse team to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers.
  • Build relationships and trust to uncover and comprehend customer needs.
  • Create compelling and logical rationale for the value of oncology products during discussions with customers.
  • Possess knowledge of cancer staging, treatment options, and dosing schedules associated with different tumors/diseases.
  • Understand the significance and use of clinical trials in multiple tumor types/therapies.
  • Analyze and identify trends in a complex buying environment, including drug distribution channels.
  • Review and evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed.
  • Comprehend complex account interdependencies to develop and execute account plans.
  • Share learnings and best practices from one customer to another.
  • Influence beyond specific territory or product areas and ask strategic questions to obtain customer insights.
  • Ensure a consistent customer experience across the company's divisions and collaborate with the customer team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license and able to drive a vehicle.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
  • Documented history of strong performance in a sales/marketing or oncology clinical role.
  • Clinical oncology experience across multiple solid tumors.
