About the position

The Oncology Sales Representative/Specialist plays a crucial role in the Oncology Sales organization, focusing on customer engagement to address the needs of cancer patients. This field-based position requires the representative to build relationships with key stakeholders, educate them about oncology products, and communicate the company's vision to the oncology community. The role involves traveling within the Central Illinois territory to meet customers and understand their business models, ultimately aiming to improve patient outcomes through effective sales strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers.
  • Use appropriate resources to create a compelling rationale for the value of Oncology products during discussions with customers.
  • Possess knowledge of cancer staging, treatment options, and dosing schedules associated with different tumors/diseases.
  • Understand the significance and use of clinical trials in multiple tumor types/therapies.
  • Analyze and identify trends in a complex buying environment, including multiple channels of drug distribution.
  • Review and evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed.
  • Comprehend complex account interdependencies to develop and execute account plans in collaboration with the account team.
  • Share learnings and best practices from one customer to another.
  • Influence beyond their specific territory or product area and ask strategic questions to obtain information about customer needs.
  • Ensure a consistent customer experience across the company's division and functional areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license and able to drive a vehicle.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
  • Documented history of strong performance in a sales/marketing or oncology clinical role.
  • Clinical oncology experience across multiple solid tumors.
