We are seeking an experienced, meticulous, and detail-oriented Data Classification and Labeling Analyst to join our Security Engineering and Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately classifying and labeling large datasets to support our machine learning and data analysis initiatives. This role can be based out of any WSP USA office. Specific areas of responsibility may fall into any one of the following areas of Data Classification and Labeling: refining data discovery, classification, and labeling requirements (e.g., data sources, data/file types, integrations); developing internal data process/placement mapping; defining classification and labeling schema and lifecycle handling policies; identifying gaps in current solutions (e.g., MS Purview) and identifying additional tooling required; selecting, implementing, and configuring solutions to scan, map, classify, and label WSP's data holdings; configuring solutions to enable automated and manual sensitive data labeling for M365 apps and services (including configuring mail flow rules); prioritizing and onboarding data sources for scanning (e.g., structured, unstructured data across applications, databases, file shares, cloud storage); executing scans, building data maps, and tuning classifications; and developing policies and procedures to communicate, operationalize, and sustain discovery, classification, and labeling capabilities. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role includes leadership and people responsibilities, such as developing positive working relationships with other team members and business partners across teams to align with WSP's internal and external client demands, and providing feedback on the governance process for continued improvement. The position also involves finance and budgetary responsibilities, including providing feedback on tooling and identifying additional needs, planning for the expansion of security tools to cover ongoing needs, and evaluating license usage and potential growth.
