About the position
The One-on-One/Teacher Assistant role is designed for a compassionate individual dedicated to supporting a young boy with a physical disability. This position involves providing hands-on assistance in various settings, including school and home, to ensure the child can participate fully in daily activities. The role combines caregiving, teaching assistance, and companionship, fostering an enriching environment for the child and his sibling.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to assist the child with mobility and daily tasks.
- Support the child's teacher by modifying lessons and guiding activities to meet the child's needs.
- Care for the sibling during off-school hours, planning engaging activities for both children.
- Assist with occasional family errands, such as grocery shopping or running small tasks.
Requirements
- Valid CPR certification is required.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience working with special needs children is highly valued.
- Physical ability to lift 75 lbs regularly and assist with mobility needs.
- Strong reliability and excellent attendance to maintain consistency.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching or educational support is preferred.
