About The Position

The One-to-one Long-Term Student Aide Substitute position is responsible for monitoring and assisting students in various settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. This role is contingent upon the enrollment of the student and involves direct supervision and support in social, academic, behavioral, and self-help development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of college education.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and departmental policies and procedures.
• General knowledge of modern office equipment and clerical functions.

Responsibilities

• Monitors students in various settings such as restrooms, hallways, bus loading zones, cafeteria, assemblies, and field trips.
• Assists assigned staff members in daily programming and student supervision as directed by teachers or administrators.
• Demonstrates understanding of students' disabilities and provides necessary support.
• Loads/unloads wheelchair-bound students on the bus and waits with them for transportation.
• Participates in physical activities that are part of the students' basic program.
• Communicates and collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of work with special education children.
• Performs other duties as directed by the building or district administrator.
